HAND PACKAGED

VIDEO - Watch a group hand-packing Tender Mercies meals!

Each Tender Mercies package is assembled by volunteers at the Peoria or Morton divisions of Midwest Food Bank (MFB). After a brief orientation, groups of 8 to 24, invest 2 hours of their time to experience the joy of service. Volunteers have an opportunity to taste the Tender Mercies meal.

During the assembly process volunteers hold packets, while others add scoops of rice, beans, textured vegetable protein, and vitamin-packed seasonings mix. Packets are weighed, sealed and packed into boxes. Boxes of Tender Mercies meals are given to not-for-profit’s during MFB’s monthly food distribution. Individual packages are also distributed at disaster sites. Tender Mercies are available to be shipped at your request.

If you have a group looking for a volunteer opportunity, please email us by clicking here: Peoria or Morton. We would be blessed by your time, and it is our hope that you and your group would be, too.
